Cheung Cho Ting, the informer states that 清

he is 40 years of age, a native of the Tsing Un District. He

formerly started the Tong On Steam Launch Company in Hongkong.

Their launch, named "Fuk Sing", traded between Hongkong and Sha 魚涌
U Chung, but afterwards as that business was stopped, the launch
was run between Hung Hom and Kowloon. The informer had known

the rebel Hung for more than ten years. The rebel Hung's nephew's

grandson A Kwan had been adopted by the informer as a son, so
that they were all acquainted with one another. The rebel Hung
10 生 堂 formerly managed the Tak Shang Tong drug shop at Sai Ying Fun in
Hongkong. The year before last this business was stopped. Last
year he started entering people into an unlawful society, each
person on entering the society paid a fee of $4. Altogether he
received several hunderds of thousands of dollars. After this
society was broken up, the rebel Bung on the 4th. of the 1st.
day of the present year, shaved off his beard, and sometimes
dressed himself in foreign attire. Very many of the men who
entered his society were Triad Society men of Honolulu, San
Francisco and other places. The rebel Hung had no business
abroad. He had no son but only a concubine, a niece and A Kwan
his nephew's grandson, who was this year 16 years of age. The
informer's wife and concubine used to visit the rebel Hung's
family house.
On the 17th. day of the first moon of this 朱 昌
year the informer's old acquaintance Chu Cheung met the informer
and secretly ordered him to get some plan for capturing the
興 國 rebel Hung. The informer assented, and then Fong Ring Kwok, and others
